Ice Bowl – February 11th
State Debate Winners Varsity Policy Debate: Samantha Wanta, Zach Beaver, Tory Kay and Nathan Holcomb 3rd place Novice Policy Debate: Becca Graven, David Marolla, Seraphim Boggs Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Emily DeBow 12th Public Forum Debate Matt Beine received one of two scholarships presented by the Wisconsin WINTER ARTS FESTIVAL Congratulations to the following students who entered UWWC's WINTER ARTS FESTIVAL on Saturday, January 28. Art teachers, Deb Prahl and Jay Krueger submitted 17 pieces of student art from the following students:
·9th grade: Margaret Moran, P. J. Moran, Aileen Shulta-O’Day
·10th grade: Beau Davila, Loretha Jack, Isaiah Malnory-Brown, Emma
Ponath (3rd place) Austin Schmidt, Katie Schraufnagel ·11th grade: Rachel McNaughten, Payge Mullen, Hannah Nelson
·12th grade: Melissa Johnson (3 entries- 1st place in mixed media),
Molly Miller (honorable mention), Lauren Schladweiler CONGRATULATIONS DEBATE TEAM Congratulations to our Debaters coached by Doris Sexton who will be participating at State: Policy Debate: Nathan Holcomb, Victoria Kay, Katie Salter, Cody Harrison, David Marolla, Alex Kopish, Emma Sanborn, Seraphim Boggs. Debate Tournament Qualifiers The Catholic National League Debate Tournament will be held in Baltimore in late May.
Qualifying in Public Forum Debate are East Students:Matt Beine and Aaron Drews (who will compete in their 4th nationals) and Courtney John and Ashley Vickney (Courtney's first national and Ashley's 3rd). Qualifying in Policy Debate are West Students: Samantha Wanta and Zach Beaver (both will compete in their first national)

West Bend East High School was recognized in the 2011 Washington Post High School Challenge list as one of the best high schools in the nation. East High School ranked 1640 out of 1905 schools in the nation and 22 out of 29 schools in Wisconsin. |
